Should You Become a Mary Kay Consultant?

Untitled Document

Thinking about becoming a Mary Kay consultant?

If you have three or more of the following traits – then you may have the Right Stuff to be a successful Mary Kay Consultant
  1. You Don’t Have Enough Time.
  2. Women who think they don’t have enough time to start a business are just the kind of women we are looking for. Why? Because busy women care about others. That’s why they squeeze many activities into their day. And busy women know how to prioritize and juggle. When they understand the importance of building their business, they manage to find the time to do the work. Women who have too much time – don’t have that same urge to take care of things and others so, it’s harder for them to do even the most basic steps to move their business forwards.
  3. You Don’t Have Enough Money.
  4. We look for women who aren’t satisfied with their current income. We look for women (and men) who will be motivated to build their business in order to change their financial futures. Mary Kay has the most women earning over $100,000 per year than any other company in the world. And a huge number of Mary Kay millionaires exist as well. Certain men have joined the company as well, and some have become quite successful also. Any person can start with a $100 and build their business to any height they can dream. No one decides your fate. If you do the work, the money follows. If you don’t have enough money, then this is a HUGE REASON to consider Mary Kay.
  5. You’re Not the Sales Type
  6. Good. Mary Kay is not about being pushy, or having ‘closing skills,’ or having a ‘sales personality.’ In Mary Kay we teach you how to enrich women's lives by educating them on skin care and helping them make decisions about product purchases. Once they try the products, most women fall in love with the way they look and feel and you end up with a very happy customer and a strong reorder business. The more women you help and build relationships with, the more successful you become in Mary Kay. It’s never about being pushy.
  7. You Don’t Have a Lot of Friends
  8. OK, it’s OK if you do have a lot of friends, but it’s certainly not a requirement for doing well in Mary Kay. In fact, my first Director built her business after moving to town from another State – knowing absolutely no one. In Mary Kay we don’t expect you to build your business off the backs of your friends. We teach you many ways to reach out to people you don’t know and offer them the gift of a pampering session. The neat thing is, that as you hang out with other Mary Kay consultants and get to know your new customers, you will find yourself having many, many friends thanks to the relationships this business helps you develop.

The Six Top Reasons to Join Mary Kay

Best Kept Secret Miracle Product of Mary Kay

OK - No one in Mary Kay ever talked about this yet to me.

But I met someone who was a long-time Mary Kay customer and she literally raved about this item.

In fact, when I told her I'd been in Mary Kay as a consultant for several months - but no one had mentioned this product at any length to me, and I certainly had never tried it, or seen it demonstrated in a skin care class, she looked at me and said, "Then they are not your friends!"

LOL - of course they are my friends, silly duck. However, I did check and I had one of these items on my shelf. I decided to purchase it for 'self-use' and could see immediately why it wasn't discussed much in classes.

The way the product is delivered eliminated the possibility of 'sampling and or demonstrating' - which probably explains why most Mary Kay consultants gloss over this product.

    What is it?

Click this link to get a preview while I continue to rave about it.

MARY KAY'S BEST KEPT SECRET MIRACLE PRODUCT

Essentially this is a product that one puts under and around the eyes.

It's not an eye-creme. It doesn't add or retain moisture. But what it does do is phenomenal.

Here's the description straight from my Mary Kay website:

This power-packed serum contains an exclusive blend of ingredients specifically formulated to address the multiple causes of dark circles and under-eye puffiness.
Feel a cooling sensation as the revitalizer begins to work within seconds of applying. Ophthalmologist-tested and suitable for contact lens wearers. Hypoallergenic.

It's the TimeWise Targeted Eye-Action Revitalizer, and it works like magic. The first thing you see when you open the small box is a glass like bottle with a metal roll-on applicator. This delivery system is why you can't demo this product, at least not in the eye area. It's clearly designed for one person to use on themselves and not for sharing.

The neat thing about the round metal roll-on applicator is that the product - a light clear layer of liquid, feels cold to the touch as just the right amount of product is distributed gently around the eye area.

My friend, took her empty bottle out of her purse, and she was quite agitated to have found herself out of the product. She is a nurse and is often getting less sleep then she'd like. She uses the product throughout her shift to keep her eyes feeling refreshed.

I've been using it for a few days - and I noticed immediate results.

MARY KAY'S BEST KEPT SECRET MIRACLE PRODUCT

The first thing is that my under-eye puffiness was reduced. The other thing was that the whole area around my eye was tightened, ever so gently, if felt like I was getting an eye lift.

My Mary Kay routine in the morning has one more step.

3 Top Reasons Men Should Consider Selling Mary Kay

Today - I met a young man at a well known Nutrition Supplements store.

He was polite, professional, well dressed, and clearly bored. He understood his products and he helped me make a buying decision with a smile and grace. While we were checking out I asked him, "Would you like to make more money?"

    He nodded.

I told him that I knew of men in Mary Kay that were making bank and that guys could be really good at this. I suggested he look into it. He had questions of course, but I don't do interviews 'on the spot' so I got his contact info and gave him my card.

So this blog post is for that young mystery man, who shall remain anonymous for now, and also for any man, young or old, who might be considering a career as a Mary Kay consultant.

Reason #1 -Everyone Remembers the Guy Mary Kay Consultant

There is a unique opportunity for men to make money selling Mary Kay cosmetics.

Unlike most professions that hold executive incomes, in Mary Kay and many other direct sales companies with products targeting primarily females, the vast majority of consultants and Leaders (high income earners) are usually women. Over 1 Million women sell Mary Kay. Only a handful of the beauty consultant world-wide are men. Which only means, whenever a guy takes Mary Kay seriously,  HE INSTANTLY STANDS OUT and GET'S NOTICED. And in sales - that's a good thing!

Reason #2 -Some Men Have Already "Made Bank" in Mary Kay

    The precedent is there.
It starts with personal sales. If a Mary Kay 'Guy' Consultant works his business hard, he should soon have a host of clients. And his satisfied customers will be more likely to give referrals to their friends - to go see their 'guy Mary Kay consultant' then if it was another woman consultant who had helped them with their beauty needs. There's something about 'sharing' that 'my beauty consultant is a guy' story that makes giving out referrals more satisfying - so expect a lot of them!

And Mary Kay has the highest commission in the industry with 50% commission paid on suggested retail sales. Imagine how much money our young anonymous man would make if he got half of the sales for the people he helped at the store everyday?

Here's one guy in Mary Kay, Jim Cundiff, who's been a Director for about 8 years and consistently has high personal sales each month and also earns top commission checks for being a team leader.

See Jim Cundiff, under Top Sales Director - Personal Sales

Here's an example of his income from February 2013

Commissions  - $10,209  (based on sales the people on his team made)
Personal Sales - $20,516 (his customers bought that much in a month - wow)

And that's just for one month!!

Multiply that times 12 and you can see an executive income in the works, plus he gets a company paid car, trips, diamonds, and other stuff. Oh, and since he's a business owner, he gets to write off on his tax return things like, travel, internet, computer equipment, home office, staff expense, etc...

Reason #3 - Women Will Always Treat Men in Mary Kay as 'Special'

What woman doesn't want to have a guy (gay or straight) tell her that she looks beautiful?
And when a man is caring and professional and truly helps a women to look younger and feel more attractive by simply sharing quality products and learning the basics of skin care, these appreciative women will become loyal customers and refer their friends.

And with the beauty business, since skin care and makeup eventually get used up, there's a huge amount of money to be made in re-orders.
After the initial razzing of friends and relatives, who all come around after you come home from your first party with $150 in profits from sales, a man in Mary Kay who takes action and has the right attitude may find himself having an easier time than his 'sister consultants,' with finding new customers and getting referrals. Men involved in Direct Sales companies that typically cater to women have done extremely well. In the Jewelery business, a young man, named Steve Wiltshire, became a million dollar producer and now runs a successful training business teaching his Party Planning strategies to women and men selling everything from Avon to Tupperware.

Epilogue: Sometimes it takes guts to step out of a comfort zone, sometimes it takes going outside of the lines of what's normal and traditional, sometimes it takes balls. Just sayin... seriously dudes - think about it.

How to Earn FREE Mary Kay Products

How to Earn FREE Mary Kay Products

Do you love Mary Kay products, but your wallet says no?

You can earn free Mary Kay products one of 2 ways.

    1) Host a Live Mary Kay Show
    2) Host a Catalog Show

You can usually earn the most FREE product when you host a live Mary Kay Party/ Show at your home. There's nothing like trying on the skin care and makeup to get your friends and family wanting to buy.

But, catalog shows are great too. Especially if you aren't up for having people over to your house, or if you live far away from your consultant.

Here's the way my customers can earn Free Product when they host a Catalog Show for me.

Step One - Decide How Many People You Will Recruit to Help You Gather Orders

If you are the only person who plans to collect orders - than ask your consultant for 3 Catalogs. One to keep on your person at all time. One to 'lend' to the person you want to gather orders from. And one to have as a back-up (in your car, purse, or at home) in case an opportunity comes up.

If you have a friend who wants to help you gather orders, or a spouse or child that plans to gather orders for you - request 2 more catalogs for each of these 'helpers.'

Step Two - Decide on a Show Target & Time Frame

The higher your total orders during your show time, the more free products you'll get. I like to have my clients hold their shows for at least one month. Most catalog shows can raise $500 or more in total sales when they give themselves that extra time - which means lots more products free to the Show Host!

Step Three - Create a Personalized Order Form and Gather Orders

I like to provide my Show Hosts with a personalized Catalog Party WISH LIST.

Hand your friends the 'extra catalog' and a Wish List and say something like....  "Hey, I'm hosting a Mary Kay Catalog Show, so I can earn some free products. Why don't you take a look at the catalog!

(start to hand it to them - and then pull it away -  instead open the catalog and go to the page and show them) "This is what I'm trying to earn for FREE." (or) "This is my favorite product." (or) "This is the best mascara I've ever used" etc.  Then hand them the catalog. "If there's anything in the catalog you might want. Just put it on the Wish List. I'll check back with you later then? Cool!" (or words to that affect)

Step Four - Take the Orders

Have the friend fill out a proper order form (your consultant should provide you) - make sure you get the proper item name, page, color, etc. Total up the orders, add tax, and encourage the friend to buy $50 or more for FREE Shipping. Make sure they have their address, telephone number, and email on their order form so the consultant can follow up - or take credit card info over the phone.

Step Five - Wash Rinse Repeat

Keep inviting people, friends, co-workers and others to participate in your Catalog Show and continue to submit your orders as you get them to your consultant. When you've reached your desired target - congratulations - you've earned your free product.

To get your Party started - contact your Mary Kay Consultant.

If you don't already have one, I'd love to take care of you.

    Everyone Loves Mary Kay!

    Everyone Loves Mary Kay!

The products are wonderful. The opportunity is amazing.

Mary Kay Inc is a $3 Billion Dollar cosmetic company founded 50 years ago by Mary Kay Ash.

Her products are as well known and famous as the Pink Cadillac cars rewarded to top achievers in the company.

Some people believe Mary Kay cosmetics are 'high end' - meaning too pricey. That perhaps is so, if compared to some drug store brands and even other direct sales cosmetic companies. However, the truth is that Mary Kay cosmetics in many cases rival the Department Store brands in quality and customer satisfaction, often for as much as half of the cost.
